Busy birthday week

I was blessed this birthday with beautiful weather. Always a pleasure for a winter birthday girl who should have been born in the summer! And after celebrating the big 30 snowed in, it was so nice to get out!We meet Kato at a local joint were she surprised with a super yummy Red velvet cake!
So so good!

New Years Eve

This year we decided to stay in and take it easy. A first in a very long time. Even when Mae was 3 weeks old we headed out to a party to ring in the new year with family and friends.

And we really do love a good party and hanging out but this year was a time for us to take it easy. Unwind from the busy busy week. (as you can see from the parents eyes we are tired and ready to ring in the new year on "parent time") So as we said good bye to 2011, we eagerly await this new fresh year

We are so excited to see all the Lord has in-store for our little family and what He will bring this upcoming year. After several bumps along the way the past two years. I personally look forward with hope and anticipation to this next year.

and next year we will be back to our party selves. But this quite evening was blessed to say the least :)

Our small town puts a light show up behind the ymca. So fun for the kids to run and play threw.

Of course we went on a very chilly night so we raced on threw the fun light show

Wow what a wild two weeks we have had

The past two week has been CRAZY busy! We have loved every minute of it but boy howdy it was a fast and furious few weeks!

So starting back to the last Monday of September one of Clint's bands was coming into town.
So while I was trying to get groceries bought and things prep for the busyness I knew was coming for the week I had the worst allergy attack. I can remember. Seriously woke up early in the morning sneezing every few minutes and continued to do so for 6 hours straight. I was quite a sight to see at the local mart that morning trying to struggle threw the aisles with my tot in tow. But we made it and after a hot shower, some meds, and ALOT of caffeine, I was able to recover ever so slightly to watch my neighbor kiddo and have dinner ready for everyone that evening when they arrived! All by God's grace truly did I survive on Monday!Tuesday I had Nursery duties at Church for our nursery director who was out of town. I was there fully caffeinated and with my lovely meds pumping threw my system. Then off to a fun hair appointment for me! Yay! Felt so so good to get my hair done! After I made it home Mae was thankfully napping and Clint was off with the band to show them around the art district and were the new music venue is going to be. I made a huge batch of soup and took some to our neighbors, the Days and then to my dad's where we all meet up to eat up! For dessert my dad whipped up some supper yummy peach cobbler! So So good!!

Wednesday was school day and the evening was spent with the super fun band and family.

Thursday we had a bit of down time. I also started to feel more human by this day! That evening the Vespers played at Central Market!! So much fun! We had a blast and the band even brought us some rain!! Yay!

Friday was another fun day at school!

Then our family of three went to eat dinner at one of my favorite places to get nachos in town! There so big that we can all share them and eat for under $9! So that's just the best!Saturday we headed out to the local music festival to listen and embrace the pretty weather! Were going to soak up as much as we can after being stuck inside so much this summer due to the crazy darn heat

That evening me and Mae stayed home
while dad went to see the Vespers perform again that night

Sunday we had brunch with the band and sent them off to go south for some more tour dates

We also went out to visit nana and pawpaw as they had just returned from a 10 day trip to the mountains
Late that evening our neighbors went into labor with their 2nd baby. So big brother got to have a sleepover at our house that night as his brother made his way into the world early Monday morning!
Tuesday consist of babysitting which I have fun pics of that to come. Then school days and a playdate rounded out the rest of last week! The weekend consist of birthday parties and the art google and the first glimpse of the music venue Clint going to be working for here in the near future. Also some much needed rain came our way to top things off.So here we are starting a new week. While its seems to be a quieter one ahead; who knows what all this fun fall week has instore!

And last Friday baby girl Day came into the world!!!!!

to say that I'm in love would be an understatement.
She is just beautiful and perfect and teeny tiny! And a HUGE praise for a healthy mommy and baby girl! We just praised Him threw the evening for the rain coming down like fresh mercies He gives us daily and to this little miracle who we've prayed so much for.

Last week we started back to school! Its my sixth year teaching in the 3yr old room and Mae has graduated up to the 2yr old room! So crazy how fast she has grown! Seriously so fast it all has gone! Anyways, we had a great start to the year and some beautiful taste of fall weather to boot.

I discovered this fun family tradition off a friends blog(thanks Mrs. S!) and We thought it be a fun one to start in our home. Daddy brought home balloons to celebrate the first day of school!

VBS 2011 was another fun success this year! Mae had a blast during worship but did have a bit of a problem with story time and the dress up tiger. To say the least dress up character are not her favorite at the moment and we assured her many times over the week that it was all pretend and that the "tiger" would not get her! Maybe she'll be okay with the concept by the time VBS comes around again next year.

So fun to see her learn the bible stories and we constantly pray that she puts these treasures in her heart to know Him one day!

So long story short my hubby came home Monday night after bible study with a lobster. A live one. And yes it kind of freak me out. It was a joke from one of his buddies and so then there was a live animal sitting on ice in my fridge for a few days.

We headed over to my dad's and everyone else helped out on their seafood feast. They ended up having lobster dip and fried fish.

Sweet baby girl decided to not nap that day and crashed threw dinner.

Our friends the Poor welcomed their second daughter to the world a few weeks back

She is beautiful and perfect

We had so much fun meeting this precious little one!
Both mommy and baby are healthy and safe.
Couldn't ask for more then that!
Such a blessing to say the least!

And Miss Mae is so in love with her friends new baby sister!
She tell all who will listen about her! So fun!

Mini Camp Week

We had another super fun time this year at mini summer camp!Mae had a wonderful time with the big kids

Surprise, Surprise

I pulled off my very first surprise shower.

A few girlfriends got together to celebrate baby R (who should be her in a few weeks or sooner!)and her mama

I told Steph that we should have a girls night out and meet me for desserts at La Mads. I didnt think I was going to be able to do it but some how I surprised her with 10 of her friends to come hang out and shower her with diapers and such for baby R. Some fun special things for sweet 2nd baby to come!

It ended up being a nice, quite evening.
We were able to enjoy visiting and snacking on some yummy treats.
And fellowship with friendsIt turned out to be a blessed and fun night!

A couple days ago, Mae and I walked threw our local grocery store taking our time and looking around. We came to the make-up and had fun picking out some nail colors. I decided to let Mae pick out her own nail polish and have a little summer fun :)

Yellow(her favorite color at the moment) and light pink were her picks

At first it was just going to be on the toes but she really wanted her finger nails to. So we made a promise to keep our hands out of our mouth and we then gave her fingers some fun color too!

Zoo days

We braved the heat and took these sweet one to the zoo yesterday

C and M really enjoyed the dinosaurs that are now sprinkled around the zoo for the kids to see

and this is what it looks like to spend a few hours out in the Texas heat!!!
